HOW TO ROOT GALAXY NOTE 2 ANDROID 4.4.2 KITKAT


Samsung Galaxy Note 2 the international variant has recently received an unexpected Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA update. Definitely many of you would have updated their devices to the latest Android OS firmware. If you’re one of those and looking for a rooting guide then follow this guide to install custom recovery and gain root access.

Requirements:

Flash Philz CWM Recovery on Galaxy Note 2:

Step 1: Download the required files. Unzip the Odin3 file and keep the Philz recovery tar.md5 image file in the same folder.
Step 2: Run the Odin3 v3.09 application.
Step 3: Reboot your phone into Download Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down + Home and Power buttons simultaneously. When you see a warning message hit the Volume Up key.
Step 4: Connect your phone via the USB cable to PC.
Step 5: Click on the PA button in Odin3 and select the philz_touch_6.26.6-n7100.tar.md5 file:

Step 6: Finally hit the START button to flash the recovery on galaxy note 2.
Once completed your phone will automatically reboots.

Root Galaxy Note 2 N7100 on Android 4.4.2 KitKat

Step 1: Connect your phone to PC and Copy the SuperSU zip package to your SDcard.
Step 2: Disconnect your phone.
Step 3: Reboot it into recovery mode by pressing and holding the Volume Up+Home and Power buttons simultaneously.
Step 4: Use the Volume Up/Down to navigate between the options and Power button to select an option.
Step 5: Select the option “Install Zip from SD card” and “Choose zip from SD card” and navigate to the directory where you’ve placed the zip file of SuperSU and confirm to flash.
Finally reboot your phone using the option ‘reboot system now’. Open the app drawer and check that SuperSU has been installed. Congratulations! You have now successfully rooted and installed CWM custom recovery on your Galaxy Note 2.

STEP 1: Extract the cf-root folder.
STEP 2: Run Odin-v3.07 application.
STEP 3: Turn off your phone and reboot it into download mode. Press and hold Volume Down+Home+Power buttons simultaneously for a while. Hit the Volume Up to continue.

STEP 4: Connect your Phone to PC via the USB cable. Make sure Odin detects your phone.
STEP 5: Hit the PDA button and select the CF-Auto-Root-serrano3g-serrano3gub-gti9190.tar.md5.
STEP 6: Click on the START button to flash the rooted kernel.
STEP 7: Wait for Odin, it will now flash the stock recovery and SuperSU.
STEP 8: Odin will show the PASS!! green message when done and your phone will reboots.
Congratulations!! Your Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9190 has successfully been rooted.
Check that SuperSU has been installed. You can also verify root access by installing the root checker app from Google Play Store. If in case you encounter the error, “Unfortunately SuperSU has stopped“. Open Play Store app and install the SuperSU app which should fix the issue.
